Quick Oat Slice
This is the perfect lunch box filler. Nut free and good for the kids. Its made using whole foods, no preservatives. Its so easy you could get the kids to make it themselves (which I sometimes do).
Use this recipe as a guide, add sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds what ever you like or have available.
125g butter melted
2 Tablespoons water
1 Tablespoon golden syrup
1 teaspoon bicarb soda
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup sugar
1cup coconut
1 cup Self raising flour
1 cup sultanas (or other mixed dry fruit)
Combine butter, water, golden syrup until melted, add bi carb and let it foam. Pour over other ingredients and mix well.
Press into a lamington tin and bake for 20 min, 180C oven.
Leave to cool in tin for 10 minutes then cut while still warm.
